FAQ's

What do I bring to a clinic or personal lesson?
Safety is our #1 priority so it is important that each player comes prepared and is wearing all the equipment listed for all activities (except speed and agility).

Does Summit Lacrosse rent or loan equipment?
We do not rent or loan equipment at this time.

Are parents allowed to watch clinics and lessons?
Absolutely!!  We encourage family members to come and watch the action!

How do I register for a Summit Lacrosse Academy personal recruiting consultation?

Do you offer scholarships for clinics?
Not at this time.

What age groups does Summit Lacrosse Academy accommodate?
 
SLA exists to help improve each and every player beginner to elite.  Each clinic will have a targeted age group and will be properly advertised to allow ou to sign you son/daughter up for the appropriate clinic.  Each clinic will strive to place players in skill appropriate groups to help all players improve and learn to their highest level. 

When should I arrive to each event hosted by Summit Lacrosse Academy?
Please arrive atleast 15 minutes before scheduled start time, so that you have time to get prepared for each session.  Private lessons should arrive 5-10 minutes prior.  

What forms do I need to fill out before attending clinics?
At registration, you will be prompted to print out the mandatory waiver.  Please fill this out and bring it with you to the check-in of every SLA event.  Players will not be permitted to participate until this form has been properly filled out, signed, and collected.  

Why does my son/daughter need a US Lacrosse?
Summit Lacrosse Academy works with US Lacrosse on insurance.  It is neccessary for all partipants to be fully insursed through US Lacrosse in order to partake in any SLA event. In order to obtain a membership visit US Lacrosse website today to sign up!

What is the cancellation and refund policy?
If you have to cancel, for any reason before the start of the clinic, we will issue you a 100% credit of all clinic fees paid ONLY if cancellations are explained in writing and received by email 48 hours BEFORE an event begins.  No-shows and Late Arrivals will not receive credit and/or discount.  Your credit is redeemable at any Summit Lacrosse Academy event, valid for one year, and is transferrable to family members.  Cash or Credit refunds are not available.  

Summit Lacrosse Academy reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule any clinic or event because of low enrollment or other unforseen circumstances.  In the unfortunate event of a cancellation, Summit Lacrosse Academy will issue a full cash or credit refund of event or clinic fees paid.  Additionally, Summit Lacrosse Academy cannot be held responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses, included but not limited to: airlines, hotels, car, or travel agencies.

What type of free giveaways do I recieve?
At our player clinics participants will receive a pinnie provided by SLA and other giveaways.  A special raffle with the latest and hottest lacrosse gear will also occur.  Participants will recieve one raffle ticket and extras can be purchased for $5.00 if the parents or siblings want to join in on the fun!  Giveaways are not provided for personal lessons, but awesome personal instruction always is!

There is not a Summit Lacrosse Academy event in my area, what can I do?
We would love to come and help you!  Contact your high school coach and ask him/her if we can bring a high school clinic to you!  We will do our best to accomodate you.  Contact us to schedule a date for your HS clinic today!

My child is a goalie.  Is there goalie training or coaches at Summit Lacrosse Academy capable of training goalies?
Yes!  Our boys director is a former goalie at Michigan State and USA West.  He will be available for all clinics in which girls or boys have goalies attending!  

What is Summit Lacrosse Academy's policy in regards to inclement weather?
For outdoor clinics, if there is a high change of inclement weather preceding the event, we will cancel the clinic and properly advertise on our Facebook Page "Summit Lacrosse Academy".  We will play through rain.  Only in the event of flooding will we cancel an event because of rain.  

What happens if there is an injury or emergency?
Members of our clinics are trained in CPR and First Aid.  Injured partipants are treated as necessary and parents are contacted.  In the event of an emergency, an ambulance will be requested.  

Are there any rules my child needs to follow at your SLA events?
In short, there is a zero drug and alcohol tolerance, we do not allow any physical abuse or property damage, and no clinic participants are allowed to leave the clinic without explicit permission.  Breaking any of these ruls will result in immediate dismissal from the clinic without refund.  

My child did not get into a school or get a scholarship and we used your recruiting services.  Why is this?
The Summit Lacrosse Academy Recruiting Support Service is intended to serve as a mentorship and resource tool in providing current NCAA regulations and other proven practical strategies, information, and guidelines to assist the student-athlete and parents in the athletic recruiting process.  Summit Lacrosse Academy Recruiting Support Service does not guarantee that the student-athlete will receive any form of financial aid in grants, loans, or athletic scholarship money at a NCAA, NAIA, MCLA, or NJCAA institution.  Summit Lacrosse Academy is not an agent or recruiting scout for intercollegiate institutions.  See disclosure at the bottom of our recruitment page.
